Hybrid, Grid-Connect Plus Battery
The same grid connection with a battery added to store what you don't use. Battery is a separate SAA endorsement we do not currently hold, so we don't quote battery installs. Tell us what you need. Demand sets when we add it.
Off-Grid And Remote
Off-grid is also a separate SAA accreditation class, and we are working toward it. Smaller stand-alone work is assessed case by case. Maintenance And Fault Finding

What Alice Springs Heat And Dust Do To Solar Panels
Alice Springs gets some of the strongest sun in Australia, which is the good news. The same sun, heat and red dust also work against a system every day. None of it is a reason not to go solar. It is the reason a system here is designed, mounted and looked after differently.
Heat Lowers Output
Solar panels produce less as they get hotter. Every panel's datasheet states this as its temperature coefficient. On a 40°C day the cells on a dark roof run much hotter than the air, so a summer midday reading sits below the number on the label. Mounting with an air gap behind the panels, so they can shed heat, is part of the design, not an afterthought.
Inverters Protect Themselves In Heat
Most inverters cut back their own output when they get too hot, to protect themselves. An inverter on a west-facing wall in full afternoon sun can do exactly that on the days you want it most. Where the inverter goes, in shade with room to breathe, matters as much as which one you buy.
Red Dust Builds Up
Fine dust settles on the glass and cuts output until rain or a clean washes it off. Panels at a low tilt hold it longest, and a dry winter or a dust storm can leave a film for weeks. Watching your inverter's daily figures is the simplest way to see it: a slow slide with no cloud to blame is usually dirt or a fault.
UV Ages The Rooftop Gear
Cables, connectors, conduit and rooftop DC isolators sit in some of the harshest UV in the country. They age faster here than down south. A periodic inspection looks at exactly those parts, and a thermal camera shows a loose or degrading connection as a hot spot while it still looks fine.
Cleaning: follow your panel maker's instructions. Clean in the cool of the early morning, never a hot panel, and stay off the roof unless you are equipped for heights. If output has dropped and cleaning doesn't bring it back, that is a maintenance and fault finding job.
